Former House Speaker Paul Ryan Discusses His Post-Retirement Activities

Ryan Talks to CNN's Jake Tapper in Exclusive Interview

In an exclusive interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, former House Speaker Paul Ryan opened up about his life after retiring from Congress. Ryan, who served as Speaker from 2015 to 2019, shared his thoughts on the current political climate and his plans for the future.

Ryan Reflects on Post-Congress Life

Ryan, 54, said he has enjoyed his time away from politics. He has been spending more time with his family and working on his foundation, American Idea Foundation, which promotes free market principles.

"I'm enjoying this new chapter in my life," Ryan said. "I'm able to spend more time with my family and focus on the things that I'm passionate about."

Ryan's Views on Current Politics

Ryan did not shy away from discussing the current political landscape. He criticized the Biden administration's economic policies, particularly its spending plans.

"I think the Biden administration is on the wrong track," Ryan said. "They're spending too much money and not focusing on the things that matter to working families."

Ryan's Future Plans

When asked about his future plans, Ryan said he is not ruling out a return to politics. However, he said he is currently focused on his foundation and his family.

"I'm not sure what the future holds," Ryan said. "But I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve my country and I'm excited to see what the future brings."
