Iu Football Wideout Donaven Mcculley To Miss Week Two Vs Western Illinois

IU football wideout Donaven McCulley to miss week two vs Western Illinois

McCullley injured in game one

Indiana Hoosiers football wide receiver Donaven McCulley will miss the week two game against Western Illinois due to an injury he suffered in the season opener against Illinois. McCullley injured his foot in the first half of the game against the Fighting Illini and did not return.

“It’s a tough break for us, because Donaven is a big part of our offense,” IU coach Tom Allen said. “But we have other guys who can step up and make plays.”

McCullley is IU’s leading returning receiver from last season, when he caught 23 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns.

The Hoosiers will face a Western Illinois team that is coming off a 38-14 loss to Southeast Missouri State in week one.

Injury status unclear

The severity of McCulley’s injury is not yet known. Allen said that McCulley will be evaluated further this week.

The Hoosiers are hoping that McCulley will be able to return to the field soon, but his status for the week three game against Cincinnati is uncertain.

“We’ll just have to see how he progresses,” Allen said. “We’re hopeful that he’ll be back soon, but we’re not going to rush him back.”
